Butterfinger Fudge comes together in just minutes and tastes irresistible. The crisp, flaky texture of Butterfinger candy combined with smooth chocolate fudge and a touch of butter creates a delightful contrast — sweet, crunchy, and full of peanuty flavor. This simple recipe elevates classic fudge with a crunchy candy topping that makes every bite special.

Butterfinger Fudge

Butterfinger bars are one of my favorite add-ins for desserts because they add crisp texture and a distinct peanut-buttery crunch. This fudge uses common pantry ingredients—sweetened condensed milk, butter, and chocolate chips—and finishes with coarsely chopped Butterfinger pieces pressed into the top to create a beautiful, crunchy layer.

The method is intentionally simple: melt together the butter, sweetened condensed milk, and chocolate chips in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over low heat, stirring until glossy and smooth. No candy thermometer is required—just gentle heat, patience, and constant stirring so the chocolate melts evenly and the mixture reaches a silky consistency.

When you chop the Butterfinger bars, they break into crisp, flaky pieces that press perfectly into the top of the fudge. I like to coarsely chop the fun-size bars so you end up with a mix of small crumbs and larger shards. Press them into the warm fudge just before it begins to set so they adhere to the surface and form an attractive, crunchy topping.

Butterfinger Fudge

Summary: Chocolate fudge studded with a layer of crunchy Butterfinger candy. Ready in minutes and chilled until firm — a perfect treat for sharing or gifting.

Details

Prep time: 15 minutes. Chill time: 1–2 hours. Yields approximately 36 small servings depending on how you slice the fudge.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter, cut into pieces to melt faster
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 12 Butterfinger fun-size candy bars, coarsely chopped

Instructions

  1. Line an 8 x 8-inch pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  2. Combine the butter, sweetened condensed milk, and both types of chocolate chips in a heavy-bottomed saucepan.
  3. Warm over low heat, stirring constantly, until everything is completely melted and smooth. Take care to keep the heat low so the chocolate does not scorch.
  4. Pour the melted mixture into the prepared pan and use a rubber spatula to smooth the surface. While the fudge is still warm and pourable, quickly sprinkle the chopped Butterfinger pieces evenly across the top and gently press them into the fudge so they adhere.
  5. Refrigerate for one to two hours or until the fudge is firm. Use the foil or parchment overhang to lift the fudge from the pan, then slice into squares. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Tips and Variations

  • For a different chocolate profile, swap the semi-sweet chips for dark chocolate, or adjust the ratio of semi-sweet to milk chocolate to suit your taste.
  • If you prefer larger chunks of candy on top, chop fewer bars into bigger pieces so each square gets a pronounced crunch.
  • Let the fudge sit out for 10–15 minutes before serving if it comes straight from the fridge; it softens slightly and becomes easier to bite.
  • Gift idea: slice into small squares, wrap in wax paper, and package in a box for a homemade treat to share with friends and family.
