Let these Mini Chocolate Chess Pie Bites become the sweet little highlight of your holiday dessert table.

Thanksgiving is just a few days away, and this year we will be heading to my parents’ house to celebrate with family. To make the holiday meal a little easier on everyone, we decided to divide up the cooking responsibilities instead of leaving the entire menu to my parents. I was assigned dessert, which is both exciting and a little funny because I am usually asked to bring bread, meat, appetizers, or the classic green bean casserole. This time, my sister trusted me with the baking, and I am taking that responsibility seriously.
Along with a traditional pecan pie, I will be bringing a tray of these Mini Chocolate Chess Pie Bites. They are simple, rich, bite-sized, and perfect for a crowded holiday table where everyone wants to sample a little bit of everything. A full slice of pie is wonderful, but mini desserts make it easy for guests to enjoy something sweet without feeling like they have to commit to a large serving after a big meal.

In my opinion, every dessert table needs at least one chocolate option. Whether you are planning a Thanksgiving menu, a Christmas gathering, a New Year’s celebration, or even a Valentine’s Day treat, chocolate always feels right. These Mini Chocolate Chess Pie Bites deliver that classic chocolate flavor in a small, easy-to-serve package. They are ideal for anyone who wants just a small taste, but they are also tempting enough that you may find yourself reaching for more than one.
One of the best parts about this recipe is that you do not need to make pie crust from scratch, roll out dough, or worry about cutting perfect slices. Athens Mini Fillo Shells create a light, crisp base that holds the chocolate chess pie filling beautifully. The filling comes together quickly with sugar, cocoa powder, melted butter, egg, evaporated milk, vanilla, and flour. Once the shells are filled, they bake in just 10 minutes, making this an easy dessert for busy holiday cooking.
These mini chocolate pies can be served plain, warm, or cooled to room temperature. If you want to dress them up for a party, add a small dollop of whipped cream before serving. They look elegant on a platter and are easy for guests to pick up, which makes them a great choice for buffets, potlucks, family dinners, and dessert trays. The texture is rich and smooth in the center with a delicate crunch from the fillo shell, giving you a little bit of everything in one bite.

If you enjoy using Athens Mini Fillo Shells, there are many other bite-sized ideas worth trying for different occasions. Savory options such as Chile con Queso Bites, Shrimp and Grits Bites, Nacho Bites, and Buffalo Chicken Salad Bites work well for appetizers and game-day spreads. For sweeter celebrations, Whipped Cream Berry Bites and Peppermint Mousse Bites are great choices, especially during the Christmas season.
For now, it is time to get back into the kitchen and make another batch of these Mini Chocolate Chess Pie Bites since the test batch disappeared quickly. That is usually the best sign that a recipe deserves a place on the holiday menu. I hope your Thanksgiving break is filled with good food, familiar traditions, and plenty of time with the people you love.
