Figs are one of those fruits that always feel a little special. When they are perfectly ripe, they are soft, fragrant, naturally sweet, and delicious enough to eat just as they are. They also happen to be wonderful to cook with, especially when you want a simple dessert that looks elegant without requiring much effort. This recipe for maple glazed figs with roasted pistachios is a beautiful way to bring out their sweetness and turn them into a warm, glossy, fragrant vegan dessert.

Fresh figs can be harder to find in colder months, and even when they are available, they are not always at their ripest. That is exactly why this baked fig dessert works so well. The heat of the oven softens the fruit, while the maple syrup, orange juice, muscovado sugar, and cinnamon create a rich glaze that enhances the figs as they roast. Even figs that are slightly firm become tender, juicy, and full of flavour after just a short time in the oven.
This maple glazed figs recipe may sound impressive, but it is genuinely easy to prepare. There is no complicated pastry, no long list of techniques, and no need to stand over the stove. You simply prepare the figs, mix the glaze, pour it over the fruit, and let the oven do the rest. The result is a dessert with a deep, warm aroma, a glossy syrup, and a lovely contrast from roasted pistachios.

The combination of maple syrup and cinnamon gives the figs a comforting sweetness, while the orange juice and zest add brightness. Pistachios bring a subtle crunch and a nutty finish that makes the dish feel complete. It is the kind of dessert that works well after a dinner party, but it is also quick enough to make when you want something special without spending much time in the kitchen.
Serve these roasted figs warm, spooning the syrup from the baking dish over the top. They are lovely on their own, but you can also add a scoop of ice cream or fresh fruit for a more indulgent finish. A sweet dessert wine also pairs beautifully with the maple and cinnamon flavours. Whether you are cooking for guests or treating yourself, these maple glazed figs with roasted pistachios are simple, elegant, and full of natural sweetness.
